The Justice and Mercy Pillar
By acts of justice we take direct action to bring about change in social, political and economic systems that fail to serve all individuals equitably
By acts of mercy we provide direct assistance to suffering individuals in their time of need.
Vision/Mission of the Justice and Mercy Pillar:
To be perceptive and conscious of the material and spiritual need and injustice that lie within our sphere of influence, and to work passionately to bring the grace and hope of Christ to bear in the face of despair by sharing our lives with those trapped in dark places.
We seek to be courageous and self-giving champions of the broken and battered against the oppressive and unjust dynamics of sin.
We seek to be a binder of the wounds of the marginalized and oppressed, and to be an agent of change that addresses the systems that otherwise wound and destroy the powerless.
We strive to live our lives in balance with the rest of God’s Creation.
