As we welcome the newly baptized we say, “We receive you into the household of God. Confess the faith of Christ crucified, proclaim his resurrection, and share with us in his eternal priesthood.”  We, as Christians, are all in this together. Loving one another, loving our neighbor.

The church, from the very beginning has been helped or hampered by the society in which it exists. If it had not been for Rome, for the infrastructure of good roads, regular shipping lanes and boats or ships, and safety around travel, St. Paul could not have had the influence and the widespread opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

That is the good news.

Society also hinders. I mention that because, as we are together on this journey, there is a gift that you can give to any priest who is serving you and with you.  In the past few years, because of confidentiality laws and the speed of medical care caused by the insurance industry, and technology, it has become increasingly difficult for us to know when someone is in the hospital.

Despite the thoughts of some, priesthood does not come with a crystal ball that tells all that is occurring with parishioners. We are called by God to be with you in the good times and the painful, difficult ones. We are to be with you. It is our prayer that we can.

So, if you, a family member, a relative or a friend is going into the hospital for surgery, for illness, or for what ever need be done, be sure to call the Parish office and let us know.

If you are going in, make sure that you list yourself as a member of All Saints. We will be there.

It is truly part of your ministry to us.
